The great Cinema-kan label has a double feature for the 926th Soundtrack of the Week: A Wife Confesses, scored by Riichiro Manabe, and Hajime Kaburagi's music for Tattoo.

The main title theme for A Wife Confesses uses violin as the main voice, supported by accordion and xylophone and the occasional cymbal crash.

This theme is developed and rearranged in other cues, with the addition of more percussion, not going too far from the original instrumentation, and always having a moody sense of fatalism.

A piece called "Curious Eyes" is actually a swinging number and presumably source music in the movie.

Hajime Kubaragi has a larger group for Tattoo and the music has a more conventional dramatic sound, getting a lot from strings, flute and percussion as well as some miscellaneous odd sounds and traditional Japanese classical instrumnets.
