The 918th Soundtrack of the Week is by the wonderful Jerry Goldsmith again. This time it's his music for a movie called Love Field, which also includes compositions performed by pianist Bill Payne.

This score finds Goldsmith effortlessly balancing beautiful and sensitive love themes and Americana with tenser and minatory cues, even using blaster beam as a sinister and alien voice in spots, subtly and effectively.

Bill Payne (of Little Feat) also contributes several solo bluesy piano numbers.

It's a wonderful record and that's all I'm going to say about it because I'm in Los Angeles right now and want to be out there hunting street food instead of staring at my laptop.
