The Jaguar Lives! movies is also quite bad. It stars karate champion Joe Lewis, who was apparently one of the greatest of all time and friends with Bruce Lee. He probably could have had a good career in movies if he'd started out in a better vehicle.

The movie follows the plot of the book pretty closely although it starts out with the book's twist ending. Normally this would remove suspense but the book was actually devoid of suspense anyway.

There's a strenuous effort to showhorn Lewis into the world of James Bond by casting various Bond movie alums such as Christopher Lee, Donald Pleasance, John Huston, Barbara Bach and Joseph Wiseman. Capucine is also in there. None of it matters.

The movie is as dull as the book and indifferently directed. Joe Lewis's skills as a fighter are not well presented. Chuck Norris was in much better hands when he started out.

It's too bad because Joe Lewis is relaxed and engaging as an actor. Norris's performances are all much more wooden. With better luck, Lewis could have done more movies and better movies.

This one is just boring.
