The cold weather has arrived in Brooklyn and last week found me in Boston, Chicago and Toronto, where it was significantly colder.

So around this time of year I start daydreaming about going to San Diego and playing tennis, drinking beer and eating Mexican food.

But thanks to a friend of mine, I now have this book called The Tennis Court, by Nick Pachelli, and there are some other tennis vacation destinations worth considering.

Of course you'll want to know if Brooklyn's own Knickerbocker Field Club is featured. And it is! So you know this book is legit.

But the Knick is closed until spring now, of course. It's cold in New York. So where to go to play tennis? (Besides San Diego.)

How about O'ahu?

That looks pretty amazing. And then there's this place in Anguilla.

Or maybe the Côte d'Azur would be nicer. How's the weather there this time of year?

And in the extremely unlikely event that Brooklyn feels too hot in the summer—it's never too hot for me—there's this gorgeous place in Mürren, in the Swiss Alps.

It's wonderful for daydreaming but I'll probably end up back in San Diego before I make it to any of these other places….
