Here's a book I'll probably never read. I bought it mostly for the title.

I don't read private-detective fiction unless it's by Dashiell Hammett. Other authors give you private detectives with names like Burns Bannion—"Expert in bloody and deadly Karate".

There are other Burns Bannion novels: Kill Me in Yokohama, Kill Me in Yoshiwara and Kill Me in Shimbashi.

I know he's supposed to be doing karate but he looks like he's dancing on Mel's Rock Pile.

The first line is, "The damned thing was swollen, and it hurt like hell".
